Info for Girls Scrimmage Tomorrow

First, we have an updated spectator policy. All XC fans are asked to watch from outside the track/stadium area. Fortunately, the majority of the course takes place on the fields, and this way we're not limited to 2 fans/athlete, so all the siblings can watch. As always, make sure anyone that shows up to cheer you on is wearing masks and being socially distanced.

Here is the schedule of the races, with the groups listed. We're only having 5 athletes per team on the starting line at a time. In the varsity race, runners from the 2nd wave do count towards scoring, we just simply subtract the 3 minute stagger from the "overall time" for them and score the race after we've recorded the "net times."

2:45 - Report to track for your assignment regarding Course Setup. Should only take 15-20 minutes, plenty of time afterwards for you to warm up, etc.

3:45 (may be later if KP arrives late) - Varsity Race

(Names listed alphabetically)

Wave 1 - DePonte, Dunham, Mainer-Smith, Valcovic, Weber

Wave 2 - Arruda, O. Dias, P. Dias, Fernandes Quinlan (starts 3 min after Wave 1)

4:25 - assuming about 10-15 minutes after end of varsity race

Wave 1 - Conlon, Iolli, Mendonca, Rodriguez, Skeldon

Wave 2 - Kelly, Urquhart, Wallace (starts 3 min after Wave 1)

4:45 - Cleanup. Varsity, I'd recommend after your race you watch the start of the JV race, you can clean up the set of flags/chute posts at the starting line after they go by.

I'll have everyone in groups of 2 or 3 to clean up. It should take you no more than 15 minutes to get to your spot, undo any flags from the posts, and bring them back to a designated "drop off" area on the fields so it's easier for me to put them away in my car after everyone's done.

I'd expect us to be done about 75 minutes after the varsity race, so 5:00 if we begin at 3:45, maybe closer to 5:15 if we don't get going until 4 p.m.
